Relationship agreements

Whether you are about to get married, live together or enter into a civil partnership, a relationship agreement can protect you both. Relationship agreements are becoming increasingly common and, whilst deemed unromantic by some, they can be looked upon as an "insurance policy" and may safeguard against the expense and emotional toll often experienced on relationship breakdown.

Relationship agreements have a "persuasive" value and judges are attaching more weight to relationship agreements in circumstances where independent advice was obtained by both parties prior to signing up to the agreement and where the agreement seems fair.
